HEALING
|
|
Reiki
is a form of hands on healing that allows the practitioner to
channel healing energy through the horse. It is a noninvasive
therapy that most horses enjoy, becoming relaxed and sleepy during
the process. A session may traditionally last from twenty minutes
to an hour depending on the horses acceptance and requirements.
Reiki has been found to be a positive influence in the improvement
of physical, behavioural and emotional problems.
A good Reiki practitioner will be a positive optimistic
person, with good sound knowledge of horses, that seeks to assist
in the long term improvement of your relationship with
your horse.
A
practitioner should not [BY LAW] diagnose or make negative
suggestions regarding your relationship or management of the
horse.
Several sessions may be required in order to inaugorate long lasting
improvement but generally positive changes can be noticed after
only one session.
If your horse is displaying physical or behavioural problems,
your vet must be consulted prior to a visit from a Reiki practitioner.
This is the requirement of the Veterinary Act of 1966 and applies
to all equine complementary therapies. A phone call is usually
sufficient.
A healing practitioner must be insured for the work that they
do.
