Equine CranioSacral Therapy (ECS) is a very powerful, though gentle, mainly hands on, healing practice, which is highly effective in treating many acute and chronic injuries and conditions in horses and ponies; including behavioural and psychological problems.

ECS is unique - as it focuses on (but is not limited to) the Equine Cranium, Spinal Cord, and Sacrum - their relationship to each other,
and their effects on the rest of the body.

What to expect from an ECS session:
There is no physical manipulation
to the bones and tissues. Whilst specific attention is given to the Cranium, and Sacrum; treatment is not limited to these areas due to the way the body is connected: Practitioners will first assess a horse's movements, posture, and soft tissue; then, will place highly sensitive hand and finger pressure to specific points, which may be anywhere on the horse's body to suit the individual needs of each horse at that particular moment and time. The energies applied, and also activated within the horse itself, work to heal, release stresses and stored trauma, also to re balance any Skeletal / Muscular imbalances.

Positive physical reactions
are frequently exhibited in a variety of forms by a horse; and sometimes by their owners also! This can be both during and after a session - onlookers often express their amazement at what they are witnessing!

Just some
examples of where Equine CranioSacral Therapy is used with success, are in the treatment of:

a

  • Head shaking
  • Facial Nerve Paralysis
  • Lower Back and Joint problems
  • Imbalances of the TMJ (which affects chewing) and Cribbing

Some other indications that a horse may be in need of treatment include:

  • Bucking
  • Lameness
  • Difficulty in making transitions
  • Feeling flat in work
  • Difficulty holding the canter and leads
  • Respiratory problems.

Horses and Ponies have been Jeans passion from an early age, and have been a big part of her life ever since.

Having always been aware of our lives having other dimensions, and of the natural energies we all have within, and available to us: Jean became drawn towards natural healing methods some sixteen years ago, and went on to study and qualify in several Therapies including Reflexology, Childrens Reflexology, and Spinal Touch Therapy. She also became a Practitioner in The Reconnection and Reconnective Healing.

Having wanted for many years to give something back to horses, Jean also studied Equine Therapies, and qualified as a practitioner in Equine Shiatsu, and Equine CranioSacral Therapy.

Over time, in what has been a gradual process of natural selection, she has chosen to specialise in the two therapies that she believes, have it all:

Equine CranioSacral Therapy, and Reconnective Healing; individually both very effective, and each giving something to the other –
The perfect combination.

Qualifications:
B.H.S.A.I Equine CranioSacral Practitioner
Reflexologist, Childrens Reflexologist,
Reconnective Healing Practitioner

Jean will visit horses in the East Midlands
